Long Time

Hello everyone

I hope you all are doing well. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. I hope to change that going forward. If you all have ideas or topics you would like me to write about, you can let me know in the comments or via the contact form and Twitter. I will put links to these at the bottom of the page. You can also find the contact link in the menu.

This summer has been a little busier than usual. I went to the National Federation of the Blind National Convention in Florida. I went with some friends and had an awesome time. I learned a lot about guide dogs, went to a hand full of technology presentations and got to see a lot of cool technology that has recently been released or will be released later this year.

I did enjoyed talking to those i did get to meet. If you get an oppertunity to go to a national convention, I encourage you to go, especially if you have never gone before.

I also attended the Envisioning Youth Empowerment, EYE Retreat a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed my time at the retreat. It was a jam packed 10 days of teaching, learning, meeting new and old friends and much more. If you would like to learn mor about the EYE Retreat or convention let me know and I’ll gladly write a post all about it. I’ll link the website below.

well, I think this is about all from me now, but I will be back soon!

It’s traveling time, traveling time, traveling time!

I’m going to an NFB national convention!!!! This is fact and I am more excited than if someone had given me a million bucks: however, that would be useful. Most of our stuff is packed, and we leave on a late night train. Even though everything is ready to go, I’m having a hard time letting it sink in. That may not happen until our friends, Landon and I hop on the train. I owe a lot to my friends and traveling partners. They’ve been there, answering questions, listening to my long, rambling What’s App messages, and read my iMessages where either my typing or dictation made what I meant to say gobbledygook. So a huge hats off and thank you to those two; I owe you a lot. 🙂 Thank you!!!!!

Everyone get ready for all the tweets, periscopes, and who knows what else. We’ll see some of you there at #NFB16.

Let the fun begin.

What is resiliency?

Hello all

I hope everyone who reads this is having a great day. So I need your help with a project I’m doing for one of my classes. I want to gather your responses to the questions below. Feel free to leave them in the comments or send me an email via the contact form.

My question for you all is, what do you think of when you hear the word resiliency? What would your definition of resiliency be? If you google the word “Resiliency”, you will find out that:

  • Resiliency is the ability to overcome challenges of all kinds, and bounce back stronger, wiser, and more personally powerful.
  • An occurrence of rebounding or springing back.
  • The physical property of a material that can return to its original shape or position after deformation that does not exceed its elastic limit.

Please leave your feedback in the comments below or use the Contact form.

What am I doing with a blog, if I don’t write in it?

Hi all,
I hope you all are doing great!

I was sitting here working on a few things when I thought I would pop in here and give an update. I’ve mentioned to friends about how they don’t update their blogs, but look at me, LOL.

Anyhow, school is going good. Friday will make the half way point in the semester. Mid-terms are this week and we can find out how we’ve done so far this semester. We have spring break and then we come back for the second eight week block. So far, I think I have done well, but I should know for sure Friday.

By the way, I’m doing a show Wednesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Eastern. You can tune in and make requests by going to
KJSC Radio.

Be sure to tune in and interact with the show.

A thank you :)

I recently saw some posts on Facebook and Twitter where people were writing about the things they were thankful for. Some people even wrote every day. I had considered posting something similar, but didn’t end up posting anything then.

They say that as you get older, you get wiser. I’ve learned that thankfulness should not find me during a specific time of year because there are things we can all be thankful for each and every day. We can be thankful for the roofs over our heads; the warm meal we just had, or the jobs we may have. We can find something to be thankful about whether it is the smallest things, or the biggest successes.

Today I’m thankful for my family, who go out of the way to make sure I have things that help me throughout my day. One great example of this is my
Google Glasses Campaign.
They have tirelessly shared my campaign on Facebook, talked to people about the glasses, and they’ve done their own research so that they can understand what the glasses will do for me. Thank you to my family for doing all of this, and thank you for supporting Me.

I have many great supporters. You also deserve many thanks for re-sharing all of the Facebook posts and tweets, donating, and getting the word out there about this. For those of you who have donated, thank you letters will be sent to you in the coming days, if you have not already received one from me.

I thank you all for sharing my tweets and Facebook post, for donating to the campaign, for believing in me, and for taking time out to listen to me or my mom try to explain what these glasses are. I give you all my thanks. When they arrive, the glasses will become an integral part of life, right beside my iPhone, Braille display and computer. I do plan to post some videos and pictures here with the glasses.

Thanks for reading my blog post. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
