What is resiliency?

Hello all

I hope everyone who reads this is having a great day. So I need your help with a project I’m doing for one of my classes. I want to gather your responses to the questions below. Feel free to leave them in the comments or send me an email via the contact form.

My question for you all is, what do you think of when you hear the word resiliency? What would your definition of resiliency be? If you google the word “Resiliency”, you will find out that:

  • Resiliency is the ability to overcome challenges of all kinds, and bounce back stronger, wiser, and more personally powerful.
  • An occurrence of rebounding or springing back.
  • The physical property of a material that can return to its original shape or position after deformation that does not exceed its elastic limit.

  1. Resiliency is the ability to bounce back from any situation. For example, if you make a mistake in life, you can reflect on what you have done, evaluate where you went wrong, and make the necessary corrections. Another example I’ll give is one the disability community is all to familiar–someone telling them what they cannot do. When I was a small child, I attended public school for a short while. Some teachers thought I would not be able to learn. However, I have managed to prove them wrong. I am in grad school now.
